Winthai Suvari addressed an incident at approximately 9:10 a.m. in which Sergeant Major Theerapol Phiakhanthi, assigned to the 2610th Ranger Company, and seven other personnel were patrolling the Thai border on a routine route approximately one kilometer from Prasat Ta Muen Thom in Surin Province. While on the mission, Sergeant Major Theerapol stepped on an anti-personnel mine planted by the Cambodian side, resulting in serious injuries to his left ankle.
